final 6

so these are my final 6 images for the hand in i was going to add some of the sport hall images but i think the changes in tones and coulours is to much if im using 3 of these images with three form the sport hall work i think their is one week image but i need it really to make them up to 6 so in an idel world they would all be 5,4 instead only 3 are. so really i think i needed to do one or two more shoots just to get the weeker image at the top out of the selection but it is somthing that i will conture to work with and i will make it better. but as it stands i think this is still some of the best work i have done i perfure the more abstract route with this work some of the images ur not to sure what they are untill their all toether then you can work out that it is a squash court. i also think this stuff is much better than the tennis court image i think the lines are much more important to the image and they stand out in each picture. i like it im really happy with this project just need that one image at the top to be sorted out really and reshot. but i like all the others and i am using the 2nd from the bottom picture for the exboditions.

this is wicked i like it all the title makes sence and having that much deatail is pretty allsome these in large prints would look impressive i like the gritty ness of it all

this was a bit of a scam as far as im consurned i thought i was going to get them for free allmost when i started the odra but of cause u have to pay for colour on both side postage tax ect i ended up spending 40 quid bastards but i got a free card holder wich will be lovely i like these cards and if people dont it dosnt matter cause thats what they look like 

The YMCA

So in effect this was quite a crusual point in my project i needed to get most of my images from this shoot i did know that it would have enouth to shoot just only really had just over an hour to shoot i am happy to say it all worked out really now i think i am in a persision that i have enouth images i could do with one reshoot and i will if their is enoth time but as it stand this is my protfolio 

so this is how their split in to diffent serise of 5 the tennis corts, sport halls and the squash cort

i like this as its pretty well formed with how the images are all about the same idea but looking at 3 different spaces wich is cool i think the images that im not tho happy with is the 1st one of the sports halls and the 1st of the squash corts if i can reshoot i will but if not these will have to do. i think their nearly their just a re shoot of each would be handy.

So back to the shoot it went well as could be expected really their was enouth their and it was a really intrested buliding i think this is some of my best work and im happy that the work seemed to have steped up it still needs more work towards it but im happy with ware its going the work seems to be much more about the form of the lines and are allmost becoming more abbstract with some of the squash cort work also shooting 5,4 went much smouther i think i was taking my reading wrong wich is a shame but never mind i have a nice number of 5,4 images and some with grate qulity that will look nice a1 pannle mounted i hope

portfolio

i have a plan for this i want to make it as consistence as i can so what i am going to do is have 3 series in it of 5 images each wich are all concentrating on different spaces but have a overlieing them which is about  the lines and it will be 5 shots of tennis corts, 5 of sport halls and then 5 of squash corts. each different but each with the same meaning

i also think that my final web sight will have the same images on, as for now i only want to keep a limted number on i want my sight to be quite symple and quick im taking my imsperation for the sight from dan holdworth sight http://www.danholdsworth.com/

The Dalmeny

so iv been ringing up places round blackpool wich have squash corts and sports halls i have now two or three placese that i can shoot

so i have done a shoot at the Dalmeny Squash corts
so the frist and the last are shot on 5,4 and im happy with the images i think their a vast improvement from the frist shoot at the sport halls they again seem less distracting and the lines seem more important so i think i will be looking at. i am going to the ymca to tonight at 10 when its free and i hope i will be able to get enoth images shot. i will reshoot the second to bottom image as i think it works just isnt in focous. so tonight it will be right and done

Right So the plan is

i got an other 3 black dark slides so the plan from now is that i will also be shooting medium format as well to ack as a back up as i can get that right and 5,4 then hope it works.

i dont really have that long left and i think i can get it in two shoots im shooting a squasg court tomoro and then the YMCA wich has 4 more corts and 3 indoor halls so with these shoots i think i can get it

so its reet and its going to work i just need to get it right and sort out my exbosousers

6 black slide

the joy of 5,4 i got up for 7 and did the shoot thought it all went allright but no 6 black slides fuck i think i was off with my exposure thats all wich is gay but at lest i now know and from what i can tell that is the only problem you can see that the focusing is all right but still now i cant mess up i need to get every image right as now i only have 13 images still its shit and im well pissed off

Elliott Wilcox

Elliott Wilcox Is a 3rd year student at Newport, his lates project is also looking at enclosed spaces concentrating on sports courts. so its intresting for me because he is looking at a simular space and how its been approached differently. i think its a really nice serise of work but it is unclear some times that it is a sport cort. also it is just making a statument about entrapment im not so sure if it is the strongest project but the images are really intresting

frist shoot platine rd sport centre

This went pretty much as well as can be expected really for the frist shoot. i cant really decide what format i want to shoot on i have been thinking 5,4 i think i may use that i shot on daylight film wich gave some nice tones so i think i will saty with that. i think some of the images need to have more of the lines on. to concentrate on the form these images are very formal and i think they work i am intrested in having one image wich is just the lines on the ground im not too sure how i will be able to shoot it ladders will need to be used i think.

in these centres they seem to fit as meny corts in as they can and the lines seem to become quite confused and mixed up wich could be read as life being confused perhaps if these lines refure to form and order in life as i intend them to.

also the platine rd sport centre is really intresteing im not to sure if its all sport centres but it seemed to have a really clinckly feel allmost like an hositbal and it was an intresting subject in its own right it could be a problem i hope dont get distracted by that


after speaking to stwart he thinks that their is still to much going on with these images and that they just to busy so i will be looking to shoot these images just with plan walls and try to keep the focouse even more on the lines

Start Whipps

this is stwarts work hes a tuture at this college and has helped a lot when i asked him, but i think this is mainly because that his work is simular to mine and hes doing pretty well really but these images are taken from
the work is a pice looking at the regrenation of the west midlands they become much more personal when u relise that this is ware he had grown up so its a much closer look at the subjects i do like these styles of images ware form is most important

simon roberts

these were really nice prints to quite small but i liked that you had to get closer in to them they were more intimate its cool i think its a nice pice showing the reck of soviet Russia

this pice is called sugar soap its grate its a vidio and to be honist i am offtern off put by vidos in galleries but this one was impressive it showed the passing time of this car exploding shot in a stop motion manor and the man puts up the images on the bill borad but it seems to have the same actors doing the same thing and it seemed to run in a system allmost. it got to a point that you could predick who was about to come onto shot wich made it a bit of a game i liked it all

hannah starkey

the image at the top is a from a diffent pice but is really quite a lovely style its allmost maga esk. the other are from a serise ware he shoots modles in a passing way allmost a glance
